Three days in Florence allowed the DETECTOR consortium to combine internal project work with discussion among experts in multimedia security and digital media assessment.
During the General Assembly, partners reviewed progress and discussed upcoming work across the consortium. A key part of the meeting concerned end-user requirements and ensuring that DETECTOR tools address the needs of practitioners. Ethical and legal recommendations were also discussed, particularly in relation to the AI modules.
Alongside the General Assembly, DETECTOR took part in IH&MMSec 2026, the 14th ACM Workshop on Information Hiding and Multimedia Security. The conference brought together experts working on authentication, forensics, privacy and the assessment of digital media.
DETECTOR’s dedicated session addressed synthetic media forensics in the GenAI era and the challenge of making detection results measurable, interpretable and useful in practice.
Together, the project meeting and conference discussions helped connect DETECTOR’s technical work with operational needs, legal requirements and feedback from the research community.
